Cynthia Emmons

Cynthia (Cindy) Jean Emmons, age 64, was born Cynthia Jean Briick in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, WA on March 10th, 1956. She was adopted by Clyde Specketer in her youth and became Cynthia Jean Specketer. She was raised and spent a good part of her life in Havana, IL. She died on February 16, 2021 in Grand Blanc, MI. Cindy began her career teaching preschool and transitioned to law enforcement in Havana employed by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department as a 911 dispatcher and jailer. She later continued in the security field by working as a Security Officer. She ended her career where she began by working as a Para Educator for the Clarkston Community Schools in Clarkston, MI. Cindy’s real work was spent fiercely loving her friends and her family (too many to name you all). She leaves behind Brothers Louis Briick of Joliet, IL and Robert Specketer with wife Gail of Havana, IL; Sister Maribeth Specketer of Salt Lake City, UT; Sons Brian A. Emmons with wife Mindi of Nashville, TN and Kevin M. Emmons with wife Shannon of Grand Blanc, MI; Grandchildren: Zoe Eimer with husband Jordan of Fort Wayne, IN, Audrey Emmons of Knoxville, TN, Matthew, Nolan, Leah, Patrick and Wyatt of Grand Blanc, MI; and numerous well loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lee Emmons; her parents, Richard Briick and Clyde and Janet Specketer (Becker); her sister Laura Leigh Specketer. Along with her deep love of her family and friends, Cindy’s passions included traveling and exploring the world and breeding and caring for dogs. Memorial contributions may be made to Adopt-A- Pet Inc. of Fenton, MI where Cindy donated both money and time to support the operation. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date to be held in Havana, IL.
