BUCKLES, David Lawrence - age 75 of Fenton, died November 21, 2022. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. David was born April 8, 1947, in Flint, the son of Harry Henry and Elaine Marie (Boggs) Buckles. He was a 1965 graduate of St. John Vianney High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. David went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Michigan. He was an accountant at West Flint Reference Lab and later Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he retired in 2018 after 25 years of service. David enjoyed golfing, reading, watching the stock market and sports, especially listening to the Detroit Lions on the radio. Surviving are: two children, Elisa M. Wittersheim (Robert Bloomfield) of Fenton, and David G. (Tamara) Buckles of Carterville, IL; grandchildren, Chloe Wittersheim of Chicago, IL, Clarissa Buckles, Luke Buckles, and Emily Buckles, all of Carterville, IL; many nieces and nephews; dear friend and mother of his children, Victoria Ybarra of Fenton; former son-in-law, Timothy Wittersheim of Fenton; his family at Oscar's in North Myrtle Beach. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harry George Buckles. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430.
