Dorothy Jones

JONES, Dorothy May - age 92, of Gaines, died October 8, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Friday and 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Ascension Hospice (formerly Reverence Hospice). Dorothy was born December 11, 1926 in Gaines, the daughter of Howard and Cecil (Plumb) Sharp and was a 1945 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. She married Charles Tibbits on September 7, 1945 and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1976. She then married R. Norm Jones on February 8, 1980 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2014. Dorothy was a life long resident of Gaines and worked for Bill's Food Center and Callard's Market. Surviving are: two daughters, Susan (Steven) Seidenstucker of Hanover, MI and Karen (Robert) Kintgen of Durand; four step-children, Stephen (Sandra) Jones of Oscoda, David (Shirley) Jones of Goodrich, Alice Amy of Casper WY, Sally Jones of Flint; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Sharon Post, Gerry Hoskins, and Dee Buchanan. She was also preceded in death by: two infant children, Rodney in 1949 and Joanne in 1958; son, David in 1999; four brothers, Ken, Ralph, Charles, and Curtis; three sisters, Claribel, Pauline, and Geraldine.
