Harmon Jones

JONES, Harmon O'Neil - Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday June 28, 2020. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday July 8, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Garfield officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4PM - 8PM Tuesday with a 7PM Masonic service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alternative Assisted Living ( A.A.L.). Harmon was born December 18, 1928 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Charles Edward and Louise E. (Greer) Jones. He married Dorothy Earlene Smith in Flint on December 8, 1955 and she preceded him in death on September 12, 2003. Harmon proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Occupation Forces as a staff sergeant from 1947-1953. He was a member of the UAW Local #370 Plumbers and Pipefitters of Mt. Morris. Harmon was also a member of Masonic Lodge 458, O.E.S. No.430 of Swartz Creek, Genesee Valley Commandery No.15, Knights Templar, Flint Masonic Temple; Royal Oak Masonic Lodge and Flint Council No.56. He also enjoyed senior volunteer work, wood carving and a life long square dancer and member of the Road Runners square dancing group. Surviving are daughter, Linda Ann DeLao; son, Russell Jones; daughter-in-laws, Sherry Smith and Linda Jones; grandchildren, Christina (Matt) Coles, Correy (Curtis) Gannon, Matthew Jones, Brian (Mandy) Jones and Timothy (Elizabeth) Jones and 8 great grandchildren. He was also survived by his brothers, Norman Jones, Dayron (Norma) Jones; sister Marie (Dick) Rupp and many nieces and nephews. Harmon is also preceded in death by his sons, Michael Smith and Randy Jones; brothers, John Paul and Donald Jones. A special thanks to the staff of Alternative Assisted Living, Flushing.
