Hilda HARRISON

HARRISON, Hilda, age 97, of Flint, died Saturday, October 31, 2009. It was her wish to die in her own home with her daughters present. God answered her wish. Hilda was born April 28, 1912 in Bucoda, Missouri, the daughter of Beverley and Mary Newton. She married Everett Harrison in Cardwell in July, 1931. They came to Flint the spring of 1942 and have lived here ever since. Everett preceded her in death on October 1, 1990. Hilda started working at AC Spark Plug as a typist in the tabulating department in 1955 and retired from there in 1972. She was a member of the Grand Blanc Church of Christ. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Jerrie and Chuck Johnson of Flint, Joyce Harrison of Flint and Oscoda, Sandi and Phil Frost of Davison; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Johnson of Nashville, TN, Tim and Sue Johnson of Flint, Michael and Billie Johnson of Flint, Deanna Frost of Dearborn, Christian Dowdy of Mesa, AZ, Nicole and Rick Chapman of Fenton, Kelly and David Root of Grand Blanc, Joelle and Patrick Kolody of Traverse City; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew Johnson of Nashville, TN, Jennifer Johnson of Troy, Elizabeth Johnson of Flint, Mikenzie Frost of Dearborn, Nicolas Dowdy of Mesa, AZ, Ian and Monroe Chapman of Fenton, Macie, Maxwell and Mallory Root of Grand Blanc, Sean and Parker Kolody of Traverse City. Hilda was a loving mother and grandmother who loved being around her family. She especially enjoyed celebrating Christmas with the family group. Funeral Services will be 1PM Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Dr. Brian Stogner will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8PM Monday; 1-8PM Tuesday and 12PM Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
