James Jordan

JORDAN, James Leeward, Age 78, of Durand, passed away September 24, 2021. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 29 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Tuesday, September 28 at the funeral home.

James was born August 13, 1943 in Flint, the son of James and Onieda (Chambers) Jordan. He earned his degree at Mott Community College.  In 1964, he married Bethany Balzer, who was the love of his life. Their love was forever pure and unconditional and his family described it as a fairytale love. He retired from General Motors having worked in the V8 Plant. James owned and operated Jim's Tax Service in Durand. He enjoyed vacationing, tinkering, running marathons, and running the Crim. He loved spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren, family was so important to him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bethany; three daughters, Tammie (Tim) Renner, Sandra (Kevin) Murphy, and Kellie Jordan (Bill Shouse); seven grandchildren, Torrie Renner, Timothy Renner, Terrin Renner, Ashton Murphy, Falynne Murphy, Kailee Phillips, and Kasey Klumpp; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Phillips, and Kayden Klumpp; sister, Emma (Bob) Dennis; nieces, Melbrina Rennie Aylsworth Womble, Katrina (Don) Herrick;
nephews, Tommy (Gloria) Carter, Timothy Carter and Robert Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Ellsworth; brother-in-law, Robert Ellsworth; and nephew, Zeke Ellsworth.
