Joann Varner-Pfaff

VARNER-PFAFF, Joann D.- age 63, of Flushing, passed away July 18, 2021. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment at Crestwood Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be held 2PM-8PM Wednesday, July 21 at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Society. Joann was born January 23, 1958 in Flint, the daughter of Harold Bachmann and Margaret (Van Assche) Bachmann. She married Kenneth W. Pfaff on February 15, 2010 in Ft. Myers, Florida. Joann went on to be a co-owner of Beyond Cool Ice Cream in Flint and was a Owner Executive in catering. Not only did she co-own an ice cream parlor, but Joann was in the restaurant industry for over 40 years. She managed Auto City Speedways concessions for 25 years along with Dixie Motor Speedway for 5 years. Joann was the President of Holliday Condo Association in Ft Myers, FL, and she loved spending time in Florida. Joann loved shopping, bingo, NASCAR racing, and she was a Michigan State fan. But most importantly, she adored spending time with her husband and grandchildren. Joann is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Jason (Mallory) Varner, Nickolas Pfaff, Nykole Pfaff, and Kendra Pfaff; grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Jake, Logan, Jaxson, and Kennedy; siblings, Anna (James) Slavens, Darwin (Jean) Bachmann, Harold (Jean) Bachmann, and Margaret (Les) Smith; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Joann was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, George, Marie, Gordon, and Dale. The family gives a special thanks to Mary Haywood, Sharon Fischer, and Joe Dewitte.
