John Forrester

FORRESTER, John F. – beloved friend and father, age 68, of Flushing, MI, formerly of Hillsdale County, passed away at home with family on Sunday, July 5, 2020. A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Christian Church, Swartz Creek, MI, at 1:00PM on Saturday, July 18th. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Reading, MI, at a later date. John was born, July 16,1951 in Hillsdale, the son of Russell and Voneta (Cooley) Forrester, Jr. He graduated from Owens High School in Reading in 1969. John was first employed as a welder/fitter in Litchfield, MI where he made sturdy playground equipment. Later he founded Forrester Construction and delighted in working as a carpenter. He was a member of Columbia Church of Christ for over 25 years where he was baptized into Christ. John later became a member of Westwood Church of God and Calvary Christian Church of Swartz Creek. He enjoyed visiting his family, camping and traveling, exploring on his dual-sport motorcycle, and tinkering on innumerable projects.

He is survived by: his children, Heather (Kevin) Moore, Heidi Forrester-Smith, Davin (Dawn) Forrester, Ian Forrester; 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; siblings, Bob (Beth) Forrester, Mike Forrester, Ken (Gail) Forrester; numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Wandalee.
