Joyce Brown-Langdon

BROWN-LANGDON, Joyce C. - Age 90, of Fenton, left this earth to go to her heavenly home on July 7, 2020. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton. Pastor Jeff Jaggers will officiate. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 10AM until the time of service Thursday at church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or Fenton United Methodist Church Building Fund. Joyce was born June 17, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of Alwin and Clarissa (Arnold) Calkins. At age 15 she committed her life to Christ to be a missionary. She was a graduate of Flint Technical High School and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Brown. They were blessed with four children, 3 boys and one girl. Joyce was very active in all the organizations that her children were involved in. Joyce had been a member of Fenton United Methodist Church for 56 years. She earned a Bachelor's degree in elementary education from U of M and taught at Lake Fenton Schools until 1983.  Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James R. (Sandy) Brown, DeNeil Bronson, Mark A. Brown, Paul T. Brown; step-children, Gary (Mary) Langdon, David (Ava) Langdon, Ann (Bob) Erhart, Alan (Janice) Langdon and Susan (Mike) Najar; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren.
