Lawrence Wichlacz

WICHLACZ, Lawrence Albert - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, April 3, 2020.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, immediately followed by a reception at Dom Polski of Flint, 3415 N. Lawrence was born January 9, 1938 in Flint, the son of Albert Joseph and Clara (Koski) Wichlacz.  He was a 1956 graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Lawrence married Eileen Rose Gatza March 3, 1962 in Flint, and she preceded him in death October 12, 2017. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 2015 coming from Flint Township.  He owned and operated Keilen Orthopedic Shoes in Flint Township for many years.  He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  Lawrence also was a member of Dom Polski of Flint.  He was a big supporter of Powers Catholic High School.  He enjoyed playing Euchre, tennis, golfing, cooking, and he was an avid Notre Dame fan.

Surviving are: his sons, Albert of Mundy Township, Steve (Laurie) of Birmingham, Robert (Carolyn) of Georgetown Township, and John (Julie Barker) of Fenton; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) of Canton, Haley of Ft. Collins, CO, Jack of Farmington Hills, Allison of Georgetown Township, and Joseph of Georgetown Township; sister, Josephine Fuss of Grand Blanc; and many nieces and nephews.
