Manny Corey

During the peaceful morning hours of May 3, 2021, Manny took his last breaths in his mama’s arms. It was time for the guardian angels, who had surrounded him for so long, to carry him home. Undoubtedly, upon arriving to heaven, he began enjoying all the things his earthly body was not meant for- eating, running, jumping, talking, and seeing all the glorious sights around him. He was finally free.

His birth mom feared nobody would want to adopt him and that he would never be loved, but this could not be further from the truth. He was fiercely loved and cherished by so many in his 2.5 years on earth. His beautiful smile, infectious laugh and impromptu dance moves could win over anyone’s heart. Likewise, if anyone offered snuggles, tickles and/or frosting, he would love them forever.

Manny, Mr. Moo Moo, E Man, Moose, Mr. Man and “cutest baby on earth” are just a few of the nicknames his fans and devotees gave him. Notable members of his earthly fan club include mama and dada (Stephanie and Sean), big sister and manager of everything Jacqueline, big brother and biggest fan Emmett and his BFF Sulley. Other groupies include countless family members, friends, teachers, OTs, PTs, nurses, social workers, music therapists, doctors, pastors, fellow Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome advocates and so many more. He was welcomed home by his heavenly fan club members including Grammy W, baby Ethan, Tim, Susan, Jeff, John, Pearl, and his beloved dog Blaze, among others.

The family requests that anyone wishing to send flowers would purchase something that can be planted in a memorial garden at the family’s home. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in his name can do so to Linden Community Schools with “Manny’s Memorial” in the memo. Donations will go towards creating an area designed for kids like Manny who need different accommodations but still deserve a place to play, learn and be accepted as the perfect children they are.  Visitation will be held 12-4 PM Saturday, May 8, 2021 a Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Celebration of life and service to follow this summer. Details to be announced at a later date
