He grew up with the love of God in the home and Lebanese food on the table. He spent his childhood with his parents George Faris and Mary Chakrallah Faris and his siblings Joseph, Helen, Raymond, Edward and Josephine. He attended and graduated from All Saints Catholic School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. For 52 years, he thoroughly enjoyed serving the public. With his brothers, he owned Faris Furniture and Jewelry on N. Saginaw St. in Flint, MI. He loved his church, Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, where he was an active member for almost 50 years. While serving in many capacities, he most enjoyed being an usher for more than 40 years. In October 1963, he married the love of his life Marie Helena Bernath at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Flint, MI. Together, they raised two sons Stephen George Faris and Scott Philip Faris. Philip is survived by his wife Marie, sons Stephen (Caroline) and Scott (Kimberly), and the five most amazing grandchildren Philip, Stephen, Juliet, Christopher and Kyle, plus many wonderful nieces and nephews and his sister Helen Faris Burgess.
