Philip Kerr

KERR, Philip - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday July 20, 2021. Funeral services will be held 12:30PM Friday, July 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 11AM until time of service a the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer Association. Philip was born November 21, 1935 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Katherine (Koch) Kerr. He married Patsy Rutledge in Swartz Creek on November 19, 1955.  He worked Kroger as head of grocery, retiring in 2000. Philip enjoyed watching and listening to any type of sports, woodworking, fishing, hunting, singing and had a talent for making up songs on the spot. Surviving are: wife of 65 years, Patsy of Swartz Creek; children, Dawn (Bill) Bedard of Flint, Michele (Darrell) Johnston of Flint, Randall Kerr of Newberry, Linda (Roger) Gauthier of Flint, Marcia (Michael) Talcott of Owosso, Gregory Kerr of Sterling Heights; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Artibee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Katherine Kerr; siblings, Rose, Katherine, Doris, Joe, Ed, Bobby, Richard, John and Harold. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
