Richard Lee Berg - Age 78, of Fenton, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 30, 2019.  He was born on January 7, 1941.  Richard proudly served his country, joining the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Bennington CVS-20, an aircraft carrier.  He and his wife JoAnn married in Long Beach, CA in 1967 and moved back to his home state, Michigan.  In 1984 Richard and his wife, with assistance from his daughter and son, built the Fenton Lanes Bowling Center.  Richard served as President of the Michigan Bowling Proprietors Association twice in the 2000's.  He enjoyed working side by side his fellow proprietors in improving business profitability and operations.  Richard was a humble, hard working man, who was always a willing mentor to those who needed help or a steady hand.

Richard's proudest and happiest moments involved his family.  He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his daughter and her family, Jennifer B. Hardie, husband Warren, and their daughter Alexandra; his son and his family, James Berg, wife Carrie, and their daughter Stella.  Richards two beautiful granddaughters were his delight and made his days the happiest.  Richard was a very proud, honest and caring husband, father, businessman, and gentleman.  He had a good life and enjoyed living the American Dream.  Richard is resting in peace at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
