VERVAECKE, Ronald Richard - Age 76, of Grand Blanc, died Friday, August 6, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc. Pastor Joe Cottam officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 4-8 PM, Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM, and Thursday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Faith Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society. Ron was born in Detroit, on September 10, 1944, the son of Richard and Shirley (Steffes) Vervaecke. Ron graduated from Denby High School in Detroit in 1962. He received his Bachelor's and Master Degree in Mathematics from Wayne State University. He taught three years in Detroit at Osborn High School. Ron then moved to the Warren Consolidated School District where he worked for 33 years as a high school mathematics teacher, summer school principal, and central office administrator. Ron retired from Warren Consolidated Schools in 2003. On October 13, 2006 Ron married Diane Eldred of Linden. They are both members of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc. Ron was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved sports and followed the Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Pistons. He also followed college and high school sports. He loved his children and grandchildren and his many trips to Myrtle Beach and Florida. Surviving are: his wife, Diane; son, David (Natalie) Vervaecke; daughter, Kelli (Craig) Steeves; stepsons, Bradley (Lanell) Eldred, Jeffrey (Becky) Eldred, and Jason (Nicole) Eldred; grandchildren, Noah, Logan, and Ethan Steeves; Michael and Alyssa Vervaecke; Luke Vervaecke; Evan, Jeffrey, Charlie, and Anna Eldred; and Haley (Spencer) Backman; brother, Leonard (Karen) Vervaecke; nephew, Brian Vervaecke; and niece, Sherri Towne.
