STICKEL, Rosemary (Rennie) -- August 2, 1922- May 24, 2020. Rosemary Stickel died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning May 24, 2020. Services pending. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. She was born on August 2, 1922 to Mary Estelle (Smith ) Rennie & Alec Rennie of Traverse City, Michigan. She loved the state of Michigan and was a resident of Michigan almost all of her 97 plus years. She graduated from Traverse City High School and attended Western Michigan University. In high school and college Rosemary loved the humanities, English & writing she had a special flair for art and design. During World War II she was a graphic designer for an architectural firm in Detroit where she met her future husband & soul mate, architect Fredrick Gordon Stickel. They spent their early years of marriage in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, then moved to Troy, Michigan. She often taught art classes at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Association. Later in her life she took up calligraphy and for years did calligraphy for the Renaissance Festival in Michigan. She was beloved by her family and friends known for her intelligence, quick wit, sharp mind, and her artistic talent. She is survived by her three children Andrea Van de Kamp, David Stickel, and Cynthia Alexander, her six grandchildren and her seven great grandchildren. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be much missed by those who knew her. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
