Shirley Gravelle

GRAVELLE, Shirley Ruth - Age 86, of Durand, passed away September 19, 2022. A graveside service will be held 10 AM Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Sanford Cemetery, 2115 Chase Lake Rd., Howell. A luncheon will follow at Cohoctah Township Hall, 10518 Antcliff Rd., Fowlerville, MI 48836. Shirley was born December 26, 1935 in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph Edwin and Mary Vivian (Atherton) Porter. Shirley worked in retail sales most of her life. She enjoyed painting, drawing, crocheting and was a talented seamstress. She loved doing crafts, playing bingo and listening to music. Shirley is survived by her children, George Vernon Gravelle, Deborah Lynn Halstead, Leroy Strong, Jennifer (Fariad) Ali, Terry Lee (Marilyn) Gravelle and Diane Lee Roberts; daughter-in-law, Tamara Gravelle; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David Arthur Porter and James Edward Porter; son, Larry Horace Gravelle; daughter, Leslie Pearl Dominy; sons-in-law, Theodore Harold Halstead and Brian Arthur Roberts.
