KURNIK, Timothy Casmier - Age 78, of Tyrone Township, died July 14, 2021 at his home in the care of his family after a four year battle with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday July 19, 2021 from 4-8PM, and Tuesday from 10AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Healthwell Foundation, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Tim was born January 20, 1943 in Detroit, MI the son of Edmund and Olga (Korejsza) Kurnik. They moved to a home and business located on Duck Lake in Highland, MI in the 50's, thus Tim's love for water and nature. Tim was a 1961 graduate of Milford High School. He always loved speed and cars. He raced his boats, cars, motorcycles (enduros and motocross). Tim served his country in the Army Reserves for six years as a Sergeant. He thrived and enjoyed his 37 years at the GM Milford Proving Grounds, retiring as an engineer. He was constantly learning and doing, he could fix anything, he possessed a problem solving intelligence, and was passionate about maintaining, fixing, accomplishing, and sharing these skills.
Tim and Linda married in 1965, and Tim was an active and participating husband, father, grandfather, family member, friend, neighbor, and coworker. He just enjoyed working, doing, traveling and life.
He is survived by his wife Linda, son James (Jeanette) Kurnik, daughter Debra (Jeff) Flickinger. Grandsons: Tim, Josh, Noah, Alex, Anthony, and Evan; granddaughter Tia, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who join his family in mourning his passing and give thanks for his life among them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene, and sister Geraldine (Geri). Tributes may be shared at sharpfuneralhomes.com
