WILSON, William Ward Jr., 80, of Fenton, passed away May 24, 2020. Private burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. William was born November 6, 1939 in Middlesboro, Kentucky the son of William and Ruth (Morgan) Wilson. He graduated from Northern High School and attended Flint Junior College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Judy Bailey on August 13, 1960 in Raleigh, NC. William retired in 1983 from the City of Flint as a traffic engineer. Prior to Fenton, he resided in Detroit, Flint, and Aurburndale, Florida for 16 years.

William was devoted to his family and cherished his many friends.  He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and travelling the country.  Throughout his life, he always had a variety of animals around him.  Dogs, rabbits, fish, etc.  An avid bird watcher, he would feed wild birds and catch views of them as they landed on the patio.  Early on, his love of NASCAR took the family to various tracks across the country.  In his spare time he loved to tinker with technology including computers, iPhones, and yes, video gaming.  On a sports note, he loved both college and professional football, watching whenever he could.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy; three sons, Mark of Kalamazoo, Scott of Midland, and Matthew of Walled Lake; granddaughters, Gabriela and Isabella; brothers, William Aaron and James; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
