When my father passed in 2020, it felt like the world had been pulled out from under my feet. I couldn't think clearly, and struggling to believe that he had passed. I was a total mess. Rebecca who helped me from the start, continues to help me to this day when I have a question or need copies of paper work, she never makes me feel like I'm a bother to her or I'm wasting her time.

Dear R J. It's just a year since my dear Mort passed and it has been the hardest year of my life. This week all the memories came flooding back and as they did I remembered just how much you helped me with all the arrangements, information and planning at his passing. I recall that, I never truly thanked you for spending whatever time I needed in planning his memorial and in giving me some personal time when I became overwhelmed with it. Mr. Sharp, I am writing to express my appreciation for the manner in which my father’s funeral services were handled by Sharp Funeral Homes – especially Steve Morehead. I was stressed, grieving and intimidated when walking in those doors to plan my father’s funeral service. Steve was warm, considerate and friendly without being ‘stiff and overly polite.’ He never once tried to ‘sell’ me anything. His entire demeanor relaxed my sister and me immediately. He ‘got’ how much the service (which I created into a tribute) meant to me and he made every single detail come to fruition. It was not a typical service and Steve just took it in stride and made it happen. He went above and beyond at no extra charge and I will be forever grateful. I also would like to acknowledge my appreciation for the young lady who created our customized Michigan folders and thank you cards. They were a huge part of making the tribute personal and meaningful to us and she did an excellent job. I have had no less than 50 people tell me it was the most meaningful and heartening service they had ever attended and the staff at Swartz Creek made it happen. I simply cannot express how thrilled I was with their efforts. I have no doubts that you and your staff already realize what a gem Hank Messing is. I think Steve understood that Hank was our guy after I explained to him our needs. No one could have delivered that tribute better than Mr. Messing. He is brilliant and again, I am so grateful to Steve for leading us to him. Surely you realize the kind of employee you have in Steve and let me just say that whatever you are paying him – it can’t be enough. I will forever be grateful to him!

I have planned funerals in the past for family, but Sharp Funeral Homes has been outstanding. From the professional men that were so kind in picking up the body. They explained everything they were going to do, and gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. Delivering the flowers to my home and the follow-ups to see if I needed grief counseling or any help. Ann’s help with Social Security and insurance companies was priceless. She was so helpful and offered to help any time in the future. No other funeral home has ever done that service for me before. Last but not least, Roger Sharp Sr. is such a wonderful, generous man. To the Staff at Sharp Funeral Home, There are no words to express how appreciative that my children and I felt comforted by all of you when my husband unexpectedly was killed in a car accident. Your professionalism and empathy is one that should be a model for all funeral homes. We can’t thank you enough for everything that you did to make his service the absolute beautiful tribute that he deserved.

I can’t believe the services that you provided, specifically coordinating the funeral with the church, the community room, aftercare, and delivery of flowers. The staff was wonderful throughout the entire process and we have never gotten this kind of personal attention in the large funeral homes. Everyone who viewed my husband couldn’t believe how good he looked after suffering with cancer for an extended period. It was very comforting for the entire family.

I was extremely impressed with how you handled the details of my mother’s death. She passed away on January 24, 2012. I had been in to see you, Jennifer, on January 20, 2012 to make burial arrangements. When you contacted me on the morning of January 24, you swiftly coordinated details with the burial site per my request for January 25, 2012. When the family arrived at the mausoleum, the hearse was already there with the open casket ready for viewing. Your representative was professional in all areas: dress, manner, respect, and patience. I was very pleased with the pamphlet distributed to us; the rose decorations on the cover and the God’s Garden poem - which you picked out - were perfect for my mother’s circumstances. Also, my mother looked beautiful and at rest. The efficiency and professionalism of the Sharp Funeral Chapel in Fenton was duly noted by me, and I have shared my impressions with many people.

Dear RJ, It’s hard to find the words to properly thank you for all your team did to help us during such an emotional and vulnerable time. From the first moment we walked into Sharp Funeral Homes, we felt compassion and familiarity. Everyone seemed to embrace our needs and want to help us through the process. We truly appreciated your guidance, approachability, and patience. Thank you for all the preparation you did before our initial meeting and most importantly, for giving us the time we needed with my grandmother. Dear Rodger, Your Son and your Son in Law carried the Sharp Funeral Home Care to a level I have not seen before. I stopped by to pay respect to Michael's honor as a fine man I did not really expect that Michael Scully would usher me into his office and that you would pop out and instruct your staff to allow my long time Friend, Jack Bethke's wish to allow us to guard the casket; but why am I not surprised? RJ handled the closing of the casket and lining Jack and I up in such a way that a saddened Father and his Friend could fully participate in the fine high Mass that our new priest and the Reuthers asked God to allow. Dear Jennifer, So sorry for this late reply. I have been back for over a week now and still adjusting to the + 12 hour-time zone. Thank you very much for keeping in touch. You cannot imagine the joy with perplexity I experienced when Nanette and I arrived from Japan on the same night contrary to expectations. Upon deplaning in Manila, I got word that she was already with her family, my nephews, en route to the parlor! That was exhilarating, advancing plans by a day ahead. The boys were extremely happy to finally be with her and see their Mom still beautiful and unblemished! Impressed were they to say the least. She looked great. More importantly we know that she is now in peace in the loving arms of our Creator! We wish to express to you our heartfelt appreciation for all the care and support you have extended to us during this very difficult time of losing our loved one. Dear Roger, Zach and I would like to thank you for all you did for us during the recent death of Greg, Everything was perfect and your staff was wonderful, especially RJ, what a comfort he was and so very helpful. Words cannot begin to express how truly grateful we are for your very generous price for Greg’s funeral. I know Greg would have been deeply touched by your generosity towards his family. I know he thought a lot of you and was often reminded of better days when you and his father would duck hunt together. The McHugh Family would like to thank everyone at Sharp Funeral Homes. They could not get over how customer orientated we are. Everything they thought of we had already taken care of.
