Amy Marie Murphy

Amy Marie Murphy, age 38, of Belleville, beloved wife, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, aunt, niece and friend, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Dan Bowman will preside. A visitation for Amy will be held on Friday, June 20 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, June 21 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Jeffrey Murphy for the family to decide a meaningful donation.

Amy was born on June 14, 1986, in Flint, Michigan, Amy lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication. She dedicated her life to both her career and the people she cherished. She worked diligently as a Veterinary Technician at a Mobile Vet Clinic, where her passion for animals shone brightly. Her love for animals extended beyond her professional life as she also took it upon herself to breed Sphynx cats and care for stray animals, demonstrating her deep commitment to the welfare of all creatures. In addition to her role in the veterinary community, Amy was a licensed cosmetologist and often helped her family and friends with their hair, showcasing her artistic side and her willingness to lend a hand. 

She was known for her adventurous spirit, enjoying travel, keeping busy, and delighted in discovering new flavors of sodas and candies and sharing them with others. Amy married her best friend and soul mate, Jeff Murphy, on August 20, 2019, in Traverse City. Their bond was a testament to true love and companionship, bringing joy and support into each other's lives. An education that truly reflected her unique spirit, Amy was home-schooled. She also embraced her faith as a part of a Bible group, which nourished her soul and relationships within the community.

Amy is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Murphy; her mother, Sherry McCarty "Marmee"; her father, Danny McCarty; her brother, Brian McCarty; her grandfather, Jerry Peters; her grandmother, Reva McCarty; her father and mother-in-law, Steve and Pat Murphy; her sister-in-law, Loël (Zack) Shinabarger; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
