Why Being Locally and Family-Owned Matters

At Sharp Funeral Homes, we believe families deserve to know who is caring for them in their most vulnerable times. Many funeral homes appear to be family-owned by name but are, in fact, owned by large conglomerates. Others start off with local owners who then sell to corporations headquartered hundreds of miles away from the community they claim to be part of. In both cases, families are often left with sub-par services that fall short of the compassionate care they should be treated with.

Not here. When you choose to work with a locally and family-owned funeral home, you can rest assured that the difference will be clear.

Your Friends & Neighbors

The owners, funeral directors, and staff you work with at our funeral home are present in Genesee County every day. You’re likely to run into us at the grocery store, at Little League games, or spending a sunny afternoon at Elms Park. Every family we serve is a neighbor, and we take good care of our neighbors.

It’s All Personal

“It’s not personal, it’s just business.” This is a phrase you’ll never hear at Sharp Funeral Homes because to us, it’s all personal. Every interaction is a chance to go the extra mile, and each member of our compassionate staff is encouraged to make accommodations with pricing, availability, and policies as they see fit to do right by the families in their care.

By the Community, for the Community

Every aspect of our services is crafted for the benefit of the families we serve—not for a corporate shareholder. At Sharp Funeral Homes, you’ll never have to worry about our standards being compromised for the sake of Wall Street, and we’ll know we’ve been successful by the experience of our families, not the numbers on a spreadsheet.

Transferring Prearrangements from Another Funeral Home

If you or a loved one has already made funeral arrangements elsewhere, those plans don’t have to stay where they are. Prearrangements are transferable, and we’re glad to help you bring them to Sharp Funeral Homes—whether you’ve moved to the area, your previous funeral home has been sold to a corporation, or you simply feel more comfortable in the care of your neighbors. In most cases, the funds you’ve already set aside transfer with the arrangements, and we’ll handle the paperwork with the other funeral home so you don’t have to. Give us a call and we’ll walk you through it, with no pressure and no obligation.
